ISSUE 3 - February 2026
As we step into this month, we are excited to share a season that is filled with connection, collaboration, and purposeful gatherings across the Exodus community. The months ahead bring opportunities not only to come together, but to strengthen the relationships that support individuals, families, and services throughout our region.
One of our key upcoming events is the Exodus Symposium Networking gathering, which will feature a panel of four guest speakers and bring together psychologists, councillors, GPs, social workers, and members of our wider community. This event is designed to create meaningful conversations, encourage shared understanding across professions, and build stronger pathways of support by uniting those working on the front lines of care.
We are also preparing for our 2026 Gala Event, a night that promises both celebration and connection. With entertainment, shared experiences, and the chance to gather with like minded people from across our community, the gala will be an opportunity to reflect, reconnect, and look ahead together. We look forward to sharing more details soon and are grateful for the continued support and engagement of everyone who makes the work of Exodus possible.
Feature Program: Seniors Connect
Taking care of the elderly is not about slowing life down, it is about honouring the wisdom, stories, and strength that built the world we live in today.
Seniors Connect is a cornerstone program within our community, created to support and empower seniors through meaningful connection and ongoing engagement. The program brings seniors together through regular interaction with a dedicated seniors case worker and peers, creating a welcoming space where relationships are built and strengthened.
Meeting fortnightly, Seniors Connect offers a thoughtfully designed mix of activities and workshops that encourage social connection, support wellbeing, and promote active participation in community life. From yoga sessions and culinary classes to gardening workshops, art therapy, and outdoor activities, each gathering provides opportunities for movement, creativity, and shared experiences. These are complemented by educational sessions focused on topics that matter most to seniors, including dementia awareness, sleep quality, and healthy ageing.
To kick off the year, our Wise People also known as our fabulous seniors came together on Monday 19 January 2026 for a joyful New Year lunch at the St George Motor Boat Club. It was a relaxed and uplifting afternoon filled with great food, laughter, music, and meaningful conversation as friends reconnected and shared stories. Guests also heard updates from the Exodus team, including the exciting introduction of our upcoming Cup of Wisdom program, set to launch from our new office in San Souci. This initiative will invite our Wise People to share their treasured recipes and life stories, offering both nourishment and wisdom to the wider community.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special. We look forward to many more gatherings filled with friendship, joy, and wisdom in the year ahead.
“Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God."
Leviticus 19:32
The work of Exodus is ultimately the work of the Lord, and it is made possible through the faith, generosity, and commitment of our community. As we continue to serve families, seniors, and individuals with care, dignity, and compassion, we invite you to stand with us in three powerful ways.
First, through prayer, by lifting up the people we serve, our team, and the direction of our ministry, trusting God to guide every step and open doors where they are most needed. Second, through volunteering, by offering your time, skills, and presence to help strengthen programs, events, and moments of connection that bring hope and belonging to others. And third, through giving, by financially supporting the work of Exodus so we can continue to respond to needs, expand our reach, and remain faithful stewards of what God has entrusted to us. Every prayer, every hour given, and every donation plays a part in advancing the work of the Lord through Exodus, and together we can continue to serve our community with love, purpose, and impact.
